Positron emission tomography (PET) functional imaging is based on changes in regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF). Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is based on a variety of physiological parameters as well as rCBF. Abstract
is an early noninvasive indicator of reduced cerebral perfusion and focal brain injury. Cats underwent either a 30-min occlusion followed by 3.5 h reperfusion (n = 7) or a 60-min occlusion followed by 4-h reperfusion (n = 6).
