Abstract

Algorithms are computational procedures that consist of successive steps to manipulate and transform inputs into outputs. They have wide applications wherever computing is employed. The “Introduction to Algorithms” book makes a sound source and remarkable contribution to this field by providing an in-depth account of almost all types of classical and modern algorithms. It adopts a very useful practice of presenting algorithms in English and in a pseudocode, which makes them accessible by readers with little programming experience. The third edition has been updated and includes two new chapters on van Emde Boas trees and multithreaded algorithms. Supplementary material and communication with the authors are available online. It is really a necessary textbook for programmers, educators, and students.
