The above-mentioned review article was followed by a ʻNote from the Editor' published in JCBFM 2005 25:291. The undersigned author hereby tries to clarify the matter.
In the above-mentioned review article, portions were included from the review article written by Drs. Thomas A. Kent, Vicky M. Soukup, and Roderic H. Fabian, ʻHeterogeneity affecting outcome from acute stroke therapy making reperfusion worse' (Stroke 2001, 10:2318–27), and the Kent et al. article was not referenced.
In the editorial review phase, the authors were focused on making rather substantial suggested editorial changes.
