A 24-year-old Swiss tourist sustained an attack by a wild boar in a tiger reservation park in India. The animal bite produced a wound with associated tibial fracture and pyogenic arthritis. Cultures grew abundant Pasteurella multodda and few Bacteroides fragilis. This case report adds to the list of animal-borne P. multocida infections and underlines the necessity for careful initial surgical treatment of bite wounds.
