Sage confirms that the Editor-in-Chief did not participate in any Editorial decision made on the paper. Despite the absence of the COI statement, the Editor-in-Chief’s involvement as an author was identified at the time of initial submission as part of routine preliminary review. The paper was subsequently handled by another Editorial Board member and was subjected to anonymized peer review in adherence to the journals policy.
