A 14-year-old girl with phenylketonuria, detected by neonatal screening and ever since on a special diet, was investigated by magnetic resonace imaging of the brain. Changes were confined mainly to the posterior fossa with an aspect of multiple cerebellar infarctions which seem to be related to an early post-transfusional embolic event.
