The trend is to protect the consumer from undue hazard in all kinds of apparel. This article discusses four flammability tests for coated fabrics: The standard 45° test, AATCC Method 33, vertical test for children's sleepwear, horizontal burning test for automotive upholstery, and limiting oxygen index test. Test results showed that additives incorpo rated in the film play an extremely important role in the flammability of a coated fabric.
