This paper takes as its focus for analysis the fierce take-over battle that took place between the Hilton Hotel Corporation and Starwood Lodging for control of the ITT Sheraton hotel chain. The paper provides a detailed perspective of the take-over, following the key stages of progress, and compares these to the theoretical background in this field.
