Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) continues to receive questions on the finer points of completing the CMS OASIS-C data sets. Particular queries addressed in the October 2011 CMS OCCB Q&As concern the timing and use of particular data sets (Transfer, Resumption, Recertification), description and treatment of pressure ulcers, independence in administering injectable medication and feeding oneself, and ADL issues such as transferring and ambulating with devices designed to assist the blind. Exploration of these issues is the subject of this article.
