In a psychiatric hospital out-patient multicentre study, 300 patients with moderate anxiety of considerable duration were treated with benzoctamine 10 mg tid for three weeks.
During this treatment period symptomatic improvement was observed, measured by an observer rating scale and a self-rating scale.
In this group of patients benzoctamine was well tolerated, 72% of the patients reporting no side effects.
