Critical celebrations of independent media centers 20 years on

Abstract

This article briefly summarizes the general trajectory of IMCs over the past 20 years since their emergence in 1999. Despite their decline since the mid-2000s, this article also makes a case for their continued relevance for radical cultural activism.
