Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is emerging as an attractive therapeutic option for thyroid nodules. With any new procedure or technology, there are important technical aspects in which practitioners must be proficient, to provide the patient with optimal therapeutic and safety outcomes. This video details the steps of performing RFA on a benign thyroid nodule, as well as procedural and safety considerations.1,2 Advanced techniques such as hydrodissection are also discussed and demonstrated. Finally, postprocedural care and patient follow-up protocols are presented.
