Abstract
Although interdisciplinary treatment has been widely recognized as beneficial, very few studies have focused on the combination of factors that promote return to function for clients with chronic pain. This lack of synthesis results in factionalized and uncoordinated client care. This article, incorporating literature from a diversity of fields and an illustrative case study, is an attempt to make a case for 12 guidelines, which are a synthesis of the knowledge gained by those autonomous professional bodies.
