Abstract
This paper presents the frequency domain analysis of a Tesla transformer system to obtain relationship between the frequency of an input square wave and the induced output voltage. This system has two coils coupled to each other via air. Resistances, inductances and parasitic capacitances make the coils a coupled second order dynamical system when the primary is fed by a square wave. Mathematical analysis bases on the transfer function written in frequency domain. The solution aims to determine the frequencies in which the Tesla Transformer generates high output voltage. A comparison between the calculated and measured results shows the validity of the proposed approach.
