Abstract
The Philip B. Crosby Quality Process was selected for use at Lancaster Laboratories mainly because there was a good fit with our culture and existing quality systems. The process was uniformly applicable to both the technical and support areas within the company. The quality process provides a way for each employee to evaluate, measure, and then improve systems in the laboratory. Impelementing the system increases the awareness of all employees toward quality. Improvements were not only measured as a reduction of PONC (price of nonconformance), but as reduction of the “hassle factor” and elimination of barriers to doing it right the first time.
