Abstract
Abstract
During the preliminary calculations of the overall heat transfer rates for some applications in marine systems, it became apparent that the controlling medium could be the thermal resistance of the paint film. A thorough literature search was carried out but no data could be found and as a consequence it was recognized that the properties would have to be determined experimentally. The approach adopted was to measure the rate of temperature fall of a body as it cooled by forced convection in an airstream.
