Abstract
Regular surface texture may be generated by a special grinding operation which is simple, productive and inexpensive. The method needs a specially shaped wheel nominal active surface. This is reproduced on the ground surface in a special way. The generalised mechanism of reproduction of the wheel nominal surface is described in this paper. Two approaches are presented. Reproduction of a given wheel surface on a ground surface is described in the first part of the paper. In the second part, the designing procedure of the wheel surface for a given surface pattern is presented. Practical remarks with examples of the ground surface textures obtained are also given.
