Sage and the Managing Editor hereby issue an expression of concern to the following article:

Sage was made aware of a PubPeer discussing the figures in this article. The concerns raised were:
In Figure 4C, Patient 12’s bands appear highly similar to the bands of Patient 9 in Figure 4D.
The authors have explained that there is a possibility in the creation of their article, they accidentally inserted duplicates of a band experiment. Due to the length of time that has passed since the experimental work was conducted, they are unable to locate the original data.
The authors have stated that these images were added for illustrative purposes only and this possible error does not affect the main conclusions of this work. The Managing Editor has confirmed the authors’ statement of this error not invalidating the article’s findings.
This expression of concern has been put in place to alert the readers of the possible duplication error that occurred in Figure 4C and 4D that the authors, at this time, cannot rectify.
