Abstract
The 2025 Delhi Assembly elections marks a significant decline in the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP’s) vote share, particularly in constituencies reserved for Scheduled Castes. Once a stronghold of AAP’s welfare-driven politics, these constituencies have witnessed a notable shift, reflecting a breakdown of trust among Dalit voters. This article examines the factors behind this decline, including unmet policy expectations, leadership challenges and the strategic repositioning of opposition parties. Through electoral data analysis and voter surveys, the study highlights the changing dynamics of Dalit political preferences, signalling a broader realignment in Delhi’s urban electoral landscape.
