Abstract
This article introduces mindful breathing– a simple, flexible activity that can be integrated into any management education course at every level. The activity promotes mindfulness practices to help alleviate student stress and cultivate crucial workplace skills such as empathy, compassion, and resilience. This is vital if management educators are to fulfill their mission of equipping students to lead positive societal impact and to become changemakers. This aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and 4 (Quality Education) and calls for balancing financial, societal, and environmental concerns and demonstrating societal impact and engagement in management education. Building on positive evidence of the impact of mindfulness-based initiatives (MBIs), this article provides an accessible entry-point to mindfulness —mindful breathing— an exercise that helps students form positive habits that enhance their mental health and well-being and empowers them to become changemakers.
