Abstract
Temporal Mesial Sclerosis is thought to be a leading cause of drug-resistent epilepsy. We report MRI findings in five subjects; MRI studies were performed with SE (T1 and DP-T2), GE T1 and IR tecniques by a high field strenght unit. Tipical lesions, including atrophy of the anterior part of the temporal lobe, dilatation of temporal horn and atrophy of the ippocampus were found in all the subjects; high signal iperintensity was found in two cases. Such findings were in keeping with the clinical manifestations of the disease in all subjects and have been confirmed by surgical histopathology in two of them.
