The “new ‘new’ W.H.O.” schema of classifying and grading brain neoplasms is coming into worldwide use. Neuroradiologists should become familiar with new concepts such as primary and secondary glioblastoma, malignant progression of astrocytoma, the simplified classification of meningioma, and newly-identified neoplasms such as atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor and chordoid glioma.
