Abstract

Dear Editor:
The article on “Pre-Osteoarthritis: Definition and Diagnosis of an Elusive Clinical Entity” by Ryd et al. is of great interest and importance. The concept and definition of “pre-osteoarthritis” has been a focus of my research program for more than a decade. 1 Some of our prior work was summarized in an open access article from 2012 titled “Early Diagnosis to Enable Early Treatment of Pre-Osteoarthritis,” 2 as well as in other articles reflecting presentations at major meetings.3,4 It is exciting to see the coalescence of thought toward defining this intriguing and important entity as we push toward true prevention of osteoarthritis. Congratulations to the workgroup on moving this concept forward.
Sincerely,
