More than ever before, schools across the United States are grappling with teacher turnover and retention. This case describes how a struggling teacher responds to pushback about his grading policies, and the subsequent response from administration in light of that pushback and other relevant concerns. The school leaders are forced to think through difficult decisions involving teacher evaluation and appropriate student and teacher consequences.
