Abstract
Kyle was the new principal at Wheeler Middle School. It did not take him long to realize special education services in the building were not serving students well while simultaneously setting up his special education teachers for burnout. This prompts Kyle to engage in a transformation and learning process for himself and his staff. As a result of this process, Wheeler moved to a co-teaching model. But, even with all the good work before implementation, there was still uneven success. The case concludes with Kyle wrestling how to deal with poorly functioning co-teaching teams.
