Abstract
The social divide in India has percolated to media and also media education. Torn between public and private sector institutions, the marginalized sections of the society have to depend upon government initiatives for access to higher education. The financial affordability is the major barrier for their entry into private sector institutions of media education. Hence, the government has initiated measures to increase the gross enrolment ratio to widen the scope of inclusiveness. This article examines the issue of social angst arising from the policy of social inclusiveness in media education in India.
