Abstract
This is a poem that breaks the silence of suicide and reflects on a silently increasing trend. Through autoethnography, we find empathy by connecting the personal to the whole. It also underscores power dynamics as while thousands commit suicide globally annually, and mass suicide was a part of African Resistance, the world only stops when wealthy, White, U.S.-based celebrities are affected. Other stories remain untold. This promotes stigma. This poem is a necessary contribution to honor the ruptures of those gone who did not have the power or privilege to have their story told to the masses. A voice for the voiceless.
