Abstract
The literature on glaucoma and/or cataracts associated with various types of clinically used drugs and certain chemicals has been surveyed. The physicochemical and pharmacological bases of these ocular toxicities have been critically analyzed wherever possible. Various means of avoiding or preventing these processes have also been reviewed. It is hoped that awareness and better understanding of drug-induced ocular toxicities may prevent or minimize damage to this very intricate and sensitive organ of the body.
