Abstract
The purpose of this research was to examine the perceptions of teachers working in public and private high schools regarding the “crabs in a bucket” phenomenon and determine the views of teachers in terms of the phenomenon. In order to achieve this aim, the research was designed with the mixed method, and an explanatory sequential design was used as the mixed method design. In accordance with the results of the research, suggestions were developed for practitioners and for researchers. The quantitative data of the study were analyzed by SPSS 22.0 and LISREL 8.80, and the qualitative data were analyzed by NVivo 11.
