Abstract
It has long been observed that games and simulations can shake up the academic hierarchy in a classroom. There has been little or no research into racial differences in simulations. This article describes several incidents in which Black students outperformed White and Asian students. If these episodes have any significance, it would be in line with linguistic research that shows that members of Black communities often excel in oral skills and value them more highly than members of the White culture.
