The construct validity of five different methods of assessing five separate teaching behavior traits was examined in the framework of a S x 5 multitrait-multimethod matrix. The results indicated that videotape rating methods produced convergent and discriminant validity coefficients which were greater than or equal to those derived from the more traditional peer and student rating methods.
