Abstract
Glymphatic system is a vital waste clearance system in the brain which is associated with a variety of neurological disorders. Focused ultrasound combined with microbubbles (FUSMB) has been proven to enhance the clearance efficiency of the glymphatic system, and a recent study has uncovered the underlying mechanism. This study integrated two-photon imaging with focused ultrasound, revealing an enhanced cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) clearance resulting from significant deformation of cerebral vessels. This technology holds promising prospects for clinical application, yet further clinical translation and safety research still need to be completed.
