Abstract
In order to augment the titanium alloy resistance to high oxidation, the application of electromagnetic field-enhanced multi-arc ion plating technology (E-AIP) was utilized to deposit a CrN coating onto the TC4 surface. The application of CrN coating results in a substantial reduction of 92% in the oxidation weight gain of TC4 alloy when subjected to a temperature of 550 °C. When the annealing temperature surpasses 700 °C, there is a significant surge in the oxidation weight of the CrN coating on the TC4 surface. The annealing temperature exerts an influence on the adhesive strength of the coating. Owing to degradation caused by oxidation, the microhardness of the CrN coating demonstrates a progressive decline as the annealing temperature rises and the duration of annealing extends.
