Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe how anaesthetic- and operating room nurses perceive perioperative conversations if they are a «Perioperative Dialogue». The study has an inductive design and the date are nurses' narrative descriptions. The informants (researchgroup) are 69 anaesthetic- and operating room nurses. The results of the study show that the «Perioperative Dialogue» can perform the funktion of a modell for perioperative nursing care. The «Perioperative Dialogue» is an opportunity for the patient to feel a degree of comfort in the patient role. The nurses create continuity in the nurses practice and the patient will be viewed as an unique person. The perioperative visits have beneficial effect on both the patients' and on the operating room nurses' experiences of planning and implementation.
