Abstract
Melt blends of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer (EPDM) have been prepared. Rheological properties, thermal properties, and mechanical properties of the blends were investigated by using Rheometric Dynamic Spectroscopy (RDS), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and tensile tests, respectively. Crystalline structure and morphology of the blends were also investigated by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The properties and morphology of the blends were dependent on the blend compositions. It was concluded that the LLDPE/EPDM blends of 90/10 composition by weight% show miscibility in the theological sense.
