Research is usually concentrated on those tourists who actually visit a given country. This work attempts to research the characteristics of the far greater number of "potential tourists" in a given country (e.g., Australia) who recently chose to visit one destination (Tasmania) rather than another (New Zealand) at directly comparable overall costs. Factors affecting these choices were identified and the results are presented.
