Abstract
The Sex‑Inclusive Research Framework–Understanding & Practice (SIRF‑UP) is a new initiative developed within the EU‑SABV COST Action (CA24168), which aims to equip Animal Research Governance Committees (e.g., AWERB, IACUC, Animal Welfare Bodies, or Animal Welfare Committee) with a short, structured process for assessing sex inclusivity by using the Sex‑Inclusive Research Framework (SIRF). It is also a research program looking to understand the challenges for such committees and assessing whether this intervention assists. This is a call for committees to engage and join the initiative and support generalisable, equitable science that provides better clinical treatments for everyone.
