For the past three years, the project-based learning (PBL) approach was used to teach electromagnetics and wave concepts in an engineering course, by the implementation of three main projects: 2014—electromagnetic crane, 2015—wind generator, and 2016—free video competition. This paper analyzes the impact on students’ learning and motivation during last three years. Design characteristics, positive and negative aspects, and recommendations are also discussed.
