Abstract
A two-year exploratory study into the implications of unemploy ment for the training and practice of the health and social service profession has been carried out by Jennie Popay and colleagues at the Polytechnic of the South Bank. Their final report has been submitted to the Health Education Council, and an abridged ver sion published in the new HEC Research Report series, with the title Unemployment and health: What role for health and social services?
