Abstract
“The challenge to school systems to effectively accommodate several ethnic groups in one setting is paramount in today's society. Intercultural education, which respects and advances the cultural pluralism of our society while imparting basic academic competencies, is the only way to proceed [E. Bernal].”
One of the most critical issues confronting educators today is the task of incorporating various and diverse ethnic perspectives into existing educational programs.
We have brought together specialists in the field of special education, sociology, psychology, and linguistics to explore this issue as reflected in the following dialogue on “Cultural Implications for Learning.”
