El objeto del presente estudio es examinar las teorías implícitas respecto a las trayectorias evolutivas normativas en atributos de diferente naturaleza, prestando especial atención a la representación de la pérdida y ganancia durante el desarrollo adulto y a posibles diferencias asociadas a la edad en esta representación. Se pasó un protocolo de respuesta que incluía atributos biológicos, psicológicos y sociales a una muestra de 166 personas pertenecientes a 6 cohortes diferentes. Los resultados muestran cómo se pueden aislar cuatro patrones evolutivos, patrones que se relacionan con la naturaleza de los atributos evaluados y en los que predomina el declive en la segunda mitad de la vida. Los datos también parecen sugerir que la cohorte mayor percibía trayectorias de envejecimiento en las que el cambio era menos acusado que el representado por las cohortes más jóvenes. Esta mayor estabilidadera especialmente acusada en atributos ligados a aspectos motivacionales, como ‘ilusión’ o felicidad’
