The Weak School Reform in China's Rural Areas: A Policy Mapping Perspective

Abstract

This study explores the weak school reform in China from a policy mapping perspective. We found that the development of weak schools in rural areas is difficult due to the underdeveloped economy, unchanged geographical conditions, and difficult communication with the outside world. However, the unbalanced allocation of educational resources and low salary of teachers in rural areas have led to the loss of teachers in large numbers, and the loss of teachers has become the main body of the loss of rural teachers. In rural areas, especially in remote areas, the schools are weak and often fail to attract excellent teachers because of poor running conditions.
