Abstract

We thank Dr Fox for his interest in our paper. It is certainly true that the platelet function inhibition by acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) can last up to 7 days. We checked our database for this possible confounder and found no differences with respect to the order of ASA in the five different treatment sessions. In fact, the minimum wash-out period was 2 days but the mean wash-out period was more than 4 days. Therefore we do not believe that a carry-on effect of ASA has confounded our results.
