Abstract
This video shows the various steps required in performing percutaneous access to the kidneys. It is a simple technique that urologists should master. This clip was made over 20 years ago and has been used repeatedly in literally dozens of courses. It shows our technique of performing percutaneous access to the kidneys, and it is interesting that in all the years our technique remains the same. We have used it in 5,000–10,000 percutaneous punctures, so we can say unequivocally that it works. Urologists are encouraged to use the technique but should watch it being performed, live, in any one of many endourology centers.
This is an historical video of an important urological procedure that may be of interest to urologists today. The content of the video reflects the views of the authors, and the techniques and technologies used by the authors, at the time the video was produced.
