Abstract
Abstract
Introduction:
This is a case of a 68-year-old woman with a past medical history of hypertension for 10 years, hyperaldosteronism, and a 3.4 cm left adrenal adenoma that had been slowly increasing in size for the past 5 years. Of note, she had a left lateral kidney mass excised that was reportedly benign 8 years prior.
Materials and Methods:
Upon a complete biochemical workup, we confirmed hyperaldosteronism and discovered mild hypercortisolemia. The patient was consented for a laparoscopic left adrenalectomy with the possibility of an open conversion in the case of a reoperative surgical field.
Results:
This video shows a laparoscopic approach in a left adrenalectomy after a partial nephrectomy.
Conclusions:
We demonstrate that it is feasible to attempt a minimally invasive laparoscopic approach in the setting of a reoperative surgical bed.
Consent:
Authors have received and archived patient consent for video recording/publication in advance of video recording of procedure.
