Abstract
Four women patients developed an erythema multiformlike eruption associated with an allergic contact dermatitis. The responsible allergens included povidone-iodine, hair dyes, paratertiary butylphenol formaldehyde resin, disperse blue 124, and hair lotion. The pathogenesis of the secondary polymorphic reactions associated with allergic eczematous dermatitis remains obscure. According to the new pathogenetic classification of eczemas recently proposed by Happle, these reactions may be included in the group of paraptic eczema.
