Abstract
Argyria, a disease known for centuries but rarely seen today, is manifested by pigmentary changes in the skin, mucous membranes, and skin appendages following systemic exposure to inorganic and organic salts of silver. When localized in any organ, the term argyrosis is also applied. Platinosis is the term used to denote the cutaneous and upper respiratory changes seen following exposure, usually occupational, to the soluble salts of platinum. This report concerns a patient with both argyria and platinosis, in whom immediate hypersensitivity to platinum salts was also found
