One of my more embarrassing moments occurred several years ago when a new acquaintance and I agreed to play racquetball. After a few minutes of gently lobbing the ball back and forth, the games began. Shortly thereafter, they were over: Ken had won 15–0, 15–0, 15–1 (and that single, feeble point was a gift, I think). Only then did Ken tell me that he was a tri-state racquetball champ and a former instructor of the sport.
