The students are recommanded to visit the lectures of Medical Psychology and that of Medical Sociology as well as a voluntary weekend-seminar with the topic “physician-patient-communication”. To attend the course and the seminar ist prescribed as compulsory for them. Their topics are thematic and didactic chosed to prepare them not only for the first medical examination but further on to qualify them for physician-patient-communication und patient-centred psychosocial care. With a new legislation on licensure requirements for physicians (ÄAppO, 2002) the course of Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology could be widened about a propaedeutic semester. On the basis of different forms of the evaluation of education and training, successful and less successful topics and didactic methods are identified and if necessary are intensified or separated. Not finally the results of our evaluation shows the necessity, to bring medicine-psychological and -sociological knowledge into the clinical section of the medical studies more intensively, and to offer it practicing doctors moreover.
