Abstract
A Newtonian iteration scheme has been constructed for solving a scattering problem using the Schwinger variational functional. The scattering problem is formulated as an eigenvalue problem with respect to a pair of unknown variables: a phase shift and a wavefunction. The efficiency and accuracy of the proposed iteration scheme are demonstrated on exact solvable tasks of an elastic scattering problem with Morse and spherical well potentials.
